#CC3C - Assemblage Clock

Boy that 2 weeks went by fast! I just finished my entry for Challenge 10, hop over to Linda Ledbetter's blog for all the details. The Funkie Junkie Boutique is sponsoring this challenge with a $25 shopping spree for one lucky CC3Cer!

First thing I did was turn to page 33 of my copy of A Compendium of Curiosities Volume 3 to check out Tim's technique. Once I had my background created I applied Mushroom Alcohol Ink to the entire clock. Next I die-cut the headstone from Grungeboard using one of the Artful Dwellings Dies and then applied a coat of Brushed Pewter Distress Crackle Paint. When it was dry I added a bit of aging with Distress Stain and Paint. I used a Industrious Sticker to frame a picture of a elderly gentleman from the Laboratorie Paper Stash and added the date of his untimely death using Remnant Rubs. For the leaves I die-cut a couple dozen from Kraft Glassine and folded them to create the veins. I took a picture of my finished clock without the glass but then reinstalled it so the leaves can move around freely inside, I guess you could call it a shaker clock! Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Very cool, Deb. Lonely, cold, a little scary. I can feel a cold breeze blown those leaves around. I like it lots!! Glad you got your clock in time to enter it into CC3C. :-)

  2. Deb....your clock is cool! I really like the simplicity of your interior. That headstone with the sort of creepy old man really jumps out at you! :) I LOVE the black bats and the fence in the background. They look amazing against the pale orange-ish background. The mushroom color of your clock is nice, too. And I like the crumpled glassine leaves in the bottom, too. Very clever to fold them to create veins! Thanks for joining us at CC3C. <3 Candy

  3. Love your tombstone and lifelike, it's SCARY!!!!

  4. Deb I LOVE your clock. The headstone look so real and with the bats flying in from behind is wonderfully spooky. All the leaves that have swept onto this poor gents resting place. LOVE IT!! Karen.x
