Halloween is just around the corner

Hello friends! As you can see I've been playing with my crazy stamp sets by Tim Holtz. To create today's card I began by stamping the mini bird, cat and dog several times onto distress watercolor cardstock. Next I used the matching dies to cut out the images and their coordinating parts before coloring with distress ink. The witches hat was cut from a piece of black deco sheet that I attached to kraft cardstock topped off with some black paper string. For the spooky background I used paper from the materialize paper stash, the webs & damask stamp set and gothic remnant rubs.

Snowglobe

Hello and welcome! I know it's only October but I just couldn't resist using some of my new Tim Holtz goodies. For those of you that don't know me, I've lived in Minnesota all my life. I'm a city girl but have spent many a days in the northern part of this gorgeous state. Today's card is a reflection of the times I've spent up north for this weeks challenge over on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog.

Using stamps from the holiday drawings set I created the first layer of the globe from vellum. For the second layer I colored some manila cardstock with spray stain and then stamped the snowflakes from the christmas nostalgia set. The thin strip at the bottom of the globe was cut from silver deco sheets. For the base I used woodgrain cardstock that was colored with spray stain and ink. Next I added some foliage that I cut from kraft-core cardstock using the mini holiday greens die and topped it off with a number brad. To finish I cut a piece of patterned paper from the tidings paper stash and attached everything to a A2 card.

12 Tags of 2016 - July

Hello, hello, hello! Today's project was inspired by this month's tag by Tim Holtz. I used one of my newest stamp sets by Mr Holtz, Crazy Dogs. I'm not sure why I didn't order the Mini Cats & Dogs set at the same time. I think I need to do some more shopping! Thanks for stopping by!

happy birdie

I know, it's been awhile. My sister lost her battle with cancer and it was heartbreaking. Today I decided that it was time to create something and it felt good.

I found this crazy bird in my stash all stamped, cut and colored. He already had the balloon string under his wing, you see where this is going? Ok so I grabbed a piece of vellum to make the balloon and then colored it with a distress marker. Next I cut a piece of mixed media cardstock and used the typo layering stencil, along with a colorful assortment of distress inks, to spell out happy. Spritzed on a little antique linen and adhered everything to an A2 card.

I'm entering this happy birdie card over at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. They have a new challenge every Monday, this weeks theme is We Can See Clearly.
